Plan & Run Social Activities
Volunteers learn how to design and facilitate inclusive social programmes for diverse senior groups — with attention to accessibility, safety, and meaningful engagement rather than passive participation.
Digital Skills for Active Ageing
Ambassadors build confidence in using everyday technology, enabling lifelong learning and helping their peers stay digitally connected.
Cultural Sensitivity & Inclusivity

Pathway to Specialist Roles

1. What This Is
An Intergenerational Reminiscence Facilitator is a trained senior who leads structured reminiscence sessions that bring seniors and youth together — creating genuine connection through shared stories, cultural exchange, and mutual discovery.
This role is part of SG Assist’s Intergenerational Learning Programme (ILP).
It recognises seniors for what they truly are: cultural stewards, living archives, and knowledge-holders whose stories deserve to be heard — and whose presence can shape how younger generations understand ageing, resilience, and life experiences.
2. What Facilitators Do
Reminiscence Facilitators guide meaningful, structured sessions, including:
- Facilitating reminiscence sessions using the Come! Let’s Chat toolkit or SG Assist’s thematic guides
- Creating a safe, warm environment for seniors and youth to share openly
- Guiding conversations through prompts, memory cues, and group activities
- Encouraging participation across different generations
- Supporting reflection and group connection at the end of each session
